This is my new live bass rig now. I just got the Native Instruments Guitar Rig 4 KONTROL Edition – Software/Hardware Combo and I love it!
- Native Instruments Guitar Rig 4 KONTROL Edition – Software/Hardware Combo (Which includes Kontrol Rig 3/Guitar Rig 4 Pro)
- Ampeg BA115 BassAmp Series 1×15 Solid State Bass Combo Amplifier, 100 Watt
- Black Macbook (Early 2008)
- Squier by Fender Vintage Modified Jazz Bass, Natural
- Shitty table to hold my laptop for now.
I do plan to get an actual laptop stand that’s height adjustable and holds the laptop perfectly. I’m anal as shit about my Macbook. So putting everything together so far it seems like a cheap ass setup that the pros would mock, but it sounds beautiful. Currently though I’m only using the effects on Native Instruments Guitar Rig 4 Pro on my amp. I would like to get some sort of P.A. speakers so I can model the amps in Guitar Rig 4 Pro. I also plan to to get more software like the Ampeg in the future to model more amps. The point was to be able to get the Kontrol Rig 3 to control the sounds. I’ll find a way to emulate everything. On the upcoming music project I’m part of, I plan to also use Ableton Live 8 Full Version with my midi controller and as well a foot controller to trigger some crazy loops or what not depending on the outcome of the project itself.
