It’s March 7, 2010 and it is the first time this year I have stopped to even think about the new year and what things it might bring. An entire 3 months and seven days have passed me by and there have been no resolutions, no vows to better myself and reconstruct. Shit, I haven’t even thought about dieting. Seriously. Because from the first few seconds of it’s commencement, 2010 has whispered to me one word and one word only. REVOLUTION. That one word, like the beat of a faraway drum. A pounding that although faint, resounds enough to imprint its pulse on my soul. REVOLUTION. And although I am not sure what that word means to me at this point in my life, its call to me is undeniable. It scares me. It piques my interest. It excites me. It’s terrifying and thrilling in it’s resolute frankness. REVOLUTION. There is a charge in this 2010 air. You can feel it on the streets and in the people, too. REVOLUTION. All of us, so long stifled by intangible foes with monikers like recession and unemployment and fear, well, word about town is that we will no longer be putting up with that shit…thank you very much. We, the people have decided to let them, those people know that we will no longer be adhering to those ideals. REVOLUTION! The intensity moving strangers to perform amazing acts of compassion and charity. REVOLUTION! Hands and hearts answering the call of need, and joining the movement to aide our Haitian brothers and sisters who are in the direst of straits. REVOLUTION. People Dream of the kind of world you want to live in. Dream out LOUD. Revolution. REVOLUTION. REVOLUTION! Why? Because WE can. -goobs
