When I was a little girl, my grandma used to watch us all the time while my mom went to school and worked. One of the things that we would do on our afternoons was listen to the entire musical West Side Story on wax, son. An entire two-record album and my brother and I would sing the songs and dance around. I would eventually see the movie at my house when it came on public T.V. (We were poor, cable was not an option.) and it destroyed me. I think I was about five-years-old and I remember thinking that it was the end of the world when Tony died and Maria was heartbroken. I cried. A five-year-old, weeping because it was not a happy ending for Maria and because love was not fair. Pfft. If only I had known then that these were scenes of things to come. lol Sigh. I still love West Side Story, though. I love it. Even though I know I will cry at the end. Even though it never turns out to be a happy ending for Maria. This movie owns a piece of my soul.

Every dude that has ever befriended me and every guy that has ever tried to get in my pants has sang this song to me. I hate it…but I swear, it’s unstoppable. TKA is just too freestyletastic to be stopped. lol At least the remix is semi-decent.
